2013 Cheyenne Cowboy Limited

Cruising by Rail participated in an AAPRCO special train from Omaha to Cheyenne with a return through North Platte to Kansas City. It was a superb trip with our Promontory Point having the rear position on the train. Daytime only travel on the Union Pacific triple track mainline was fantastic. Trips like this are very rare opportunities to experience railroading where Amtrak does not run.

New Orleans

CBR has run many an excursion to New Orleans, Louisiana just for your fun. Spend time in the French Quarter; have café au lait and beignets at Café du Monde; ride the streetcars or the steamboat or win big at the casino. The Mardi Gras parades happen daytime and night and are a real treat. We also make this trip during non festival times and still find plenty to see and do. The cars will be parked at Union Station with easy public transportation to everywhere.

Cruising by Rail excursions to San Diego, California just great for fun. Spend time on the water front and Gaslight district; Balboa Park with Zoo and model railroad, Sea World, tour the USS Midway or the Star of India; ride the Red Streetcars or take the tour boat cruise of the harbor. The Pacific Southwest railroad museum is in Campo California which is about a 90 minute drive. Pretty much do what you want to do, just have a good time. Washington DC

Washington D.C. is one of the premier destinations for private car travel. Parking at Union Station is in the heart of the city with easy public transportation to everywhere. All of the tour operators have pick up at the station as well as ticket sales. Many of the museums and monuments are within walking distance.  We operate this trip via two different routings. One is through Chicago with the travel to Washington via the New River Gorge. The second route is via New Orleans with our routing taking us across Lake Ponchatrain and through the anti-bellum south.
